Dr. Thais Castro is an associate professor at the Federal University of Amazonas, where she advises undergraduate, master's and doctoral students. She completed her Post-Doctoral Internship at the Scientific and Technological Education Program at UFSC (2021) and completed her Doctorate in Informatics at PUC-Rio (2011), during which she completed the Sandwich Doctorate program at the University of Edinburgh (2009-2010) . Her research focus is on accessibility, inclusive learning and accessibility in entertainment through technology, where he has a special interest in inclusive design processes, inclusive teaching-learning process through assistive technologies, user-centred design methods and evaluation of computational artefacts. For this, she uses computer techniques in Informatics in Education and Human-Computer Interaction, with an emphasis on Accessibility and Inclusion, and she also investigates methodologies for representing knowledge and learning to promote more democratic education. Thus, as she seeks innovative computing techniques for the inclusion of people with disabilities, the research focus also permeates the area of #8203;#8203;Science and Mathematics Teaching. She has coordinated and participated in several projects funded by FAPEAM (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Amazonas), CNPq and Capes. She is currently a professor at the Graduate Program in Informatics at UFAM and at the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching at UFAM, where she was once the coordinator. In addition, she participated in the Special Committee on Informatics in Education of the Brazilian Computer Society, she is a reviewer for the journals RBIE, JIS and TACCESS and Educational Dialogue and a member of the program committee of several international events, such as: IHC, SBIE, ICALT and FIE.
