Juan Gabriel Colonna

Associate professor at the Institute of Computing of the Federal University of Amazonas since September 2018. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Informatics (PPGI - UFAM) between 2024 and 2022, and vice-coordinator of the PPGI in 2021. Research Productivity Scholar at FAPEAM (2023-2024) - Amazonas State Research Support Foundation. Postdoctoral studies at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from the National University of Río Cuarto (UNRC, Argentina, 2009). Masters and PhD in Informatics from the Federal University of Amazonas (2012 and 2018). Awarded first place in the Latin American Master's Dissertation Contest at CLEI 2012. Completed a 12-month doctoral internship at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) at INESCTEC, University of Porto, Portugal. Worked as a researcher and developer (RD) in Machine Learning and AI at Samsung's Institute for Development and Informatics of the Amazon (SIDIA, 2018). Has experience in the field of computing, with an emphasis on machine learning, artificial intelligence, and digital signal processing.
