André Carvalho is a adjunct professor at Federal University of Amazonas, Brazil, where he also received his Ph. D. degree in 2012. He is currently the coordinator of the Software Engeneering Bsc. course in the same University. During his career, he has coordinated a number of research projects with different large companies, such as Samsung and Nokia, mostly focused in applied Machine Learning. While starting his career researching Information Retrieval methods, more recently he has moved his focus to the application of Deep Learning techniques for Natural Language Processing.
