Horacio A. B. Fernandes de Oliveira is a full professor of computer science at Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), Brazil. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, with a partial doctoral fellowship at University of Ottawa, Canada. His research interests include localization and synchronization algorithms, distributed algorithms, Internet of things, and wireless ad hoc, vehicular, and sensor networks. He is author of several papers in the different areas of his research interests and has won several awards, including the Brazil's best PhD thesis in computer science (CAPES/2009). He has a Research Productivity Grant from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). In 2022, he became an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC).
